Wikipedia, the famous online encyclopaedia, has decided to condense all of its knowledge in a single file, which could be downloaded through Torrent.

Wikipedia.- The responsible for the famous online encyclopaedia “Wikipedia” have decided to condense all of the knowledge uploaded on the platform in a single file. The file in question weights about 9.7 gigabytes and it could be downloaded as a single file, “OpenZIM”, through Torrent.

Representatives of Wikipedia have explained that they have removed images and other multimedia content with the objective of resting weight to the file which is available in English and Spanish languages.

“OpenZIM” could be read with the help of the software Kiwix and it is available for Windows, Mac and Linux operative systems.

This popular online encyclopaedia is supported by private donations done through the non-profit Wikipedia Foundation, as well as, by the collaboration of hundreds of volunteers who write and edit the more than 21 million articles available.

Wikipedia has managed to attract more than 162 million users since its foundation in the year 2001, becoming an essential source of information for millions of people around the world.
