Dogs.- A study on dogs´ language capabilities conducted by the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, reveals that these animals are able to recognize over 160 different human words, although some of them are very capable of distinguishing more than 200 sounds.

Dr. Stanley Coren, supervisor of the research, believes that dogs possess a level of intelligence similar to the one of a two-year old human child being the collies, poodles and alsacians the most intelligent of them.

Besides this study, a group of researchers from the Max Planck Institute in Germany has concluded that dogs are able to learn the routes to certain locations and fool other animals and human beings in order to obtain their objectives.
